Renee
Drabier, joined the University of Connecticut Health Center in October
2005 as Assistant Vice President, Health Informatics. In this newly created
position, Dr. Drabier is responsible for the Faculty Instructional
Technology Services, the Library, and Biomedical and Media Communication
Services.
Dr. Drabier was previously at Colorado State
University-Pueblo where she served as Associate Provost for Academic Affairs
and Chief Technology Officer for over seven years. Among her diverse
responsibilities at Colorado State, she was responsible for administration
of academic affairs, academic computing, video and multimedia services, web
development, instructional technology, distance education, graduate studies
coordination, strategic planning, and collaborative projects with other
academic institutions. She served as a consultant to faculty and staff on
use of technology in education, and has published widely in that area. Prior
to her work at Colorado State, she served for fourteen years at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Renee has a Ph.D.
in Distance Education and Educational Technology from Texas A&M
University, an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a
Bachelor degree in Music Education/Music Therapy from the University of
Kansas.
