A Little History
Old Sturbridge Village: Just across the street is a living history museum that takes visitors back in time to 1830s New England. Working farm, meetinghouses, tavern, bank, homes and mills. Costumed villagers carry out tasks as they would have in the early 19th century.

Group rate admission tickets ($15 per person) are available at the hospitality table in the lobby of the Sturbridge Host Hotel.

Hyland Orchard and Brewery. Located on Whites Hill in Sturbridge, Hyland Orchard & Brewery invites you to take a scenic look at modern family farming in New England. Live music, great beer and food, guided brewery tours. Visit the animal attraction, pick your own apples, press your own cider and choose your favorite pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Publick House Historic Inn. Built in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, this Registered Historic Landmark is furnished in the colonial tradition. Enjoy traditional New England dining and lodging in a quaint colonial setting.

Stageloft Repertory Theater. The Stageloft Repertory THeater is a professional community-based theater offering American musicals and comedies, British farces, and classics, such as Shakespeare, in its centrally air-conditioned and fully handicap-accessible facility.

The Arts Center. Located in a restored Victorian mansion and accompanying carriage house. Art shows, exhibitions, contests, concerts, workshops, craft classes and demonstrations. Serves as home base for the Gateway Players, the area's oldest resident community theatre group.

Worcester Art Museum. The WAM is the second largest art museum in New England. 5,000 years of art and culture from Egyptian antiquities and Roman mosaics to Impressionistic paintings and pop art. Changing exhibits, slide lectures, seminars and films.

Higgins Armory. The Higgins Armory Museum enjoys the distinction of being the only museum in the Western Hemisphere entirely devoted to the study and display of arms and armor. From its steel and glass Art Deco exterior to the vaulted Medieval Great Hall, visitors will be amazed at the scope and breadth of historical, cultural and technological periods represented by the objects.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The game of basketball began in 1891. There are few sports that have a greater or richer history. Springfield’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's mission preserves and promotes the game at all levels and serves as basketball's ultimate library of history.
