NAHSL Scholarship Fund

The intention of the NAHSL Scholarship Fund is to assist members to participate in professional programs. Applications must be submitted to the NAHSL Secretary at least four weeks before the event. The Secretary and Membership Chair will evaluate the applications against the five criteria listed below. Applicants will be notified of eligibility within two weeks and will receive a check request form. The Secretary will then forward the schoalrship application to the Treasurer. In order for a check to be issued, the applicant must submit the check request form, along with receipts for all eligible expenses, to the Treasurer within one month of the event.

Criterion 1 - NAHSL Membership

Applicant must be a current member of NAHSL (membership status will be verified by the Membership Chair).

Criterion 2 - Eligible Programs/Meetings/Courses

Scholarship funds are limited to educational courses or programs sponsored by NAHSL and are applicable only to course or conference registration fees. Hotel/travel expenses do not qualify for NAHSL scholarship funds.

Criterion 3 - Dollar Amount

A maximum of $100 toward the cost of the program may be awarded per applicant. The award will not exceed the actual expense associated with the program/meeting/course, and will never cover staff time.

Criterion 4 - Number of Scholarships Per Applicant

An applicant may receive more than one scholarship per calendar year, total not to exceed $100 per calendar year. A record of scholarships awarded will be kept by the Scholarship Chair.
